Natalie Annette Vitrano received a BFA in Studio Art with a certification in Art Education from‬ The University of Texas at Austin in 1991. She has been fascinated with watercolor since taking‬ her first class from Bill Wiman at the University of Texas. She enjoys the way water moves the‬ paint in unexpected ways within strict parameters. She is interested in exploring angles and high‬ contrast light and shadow, leaning toward architectural images in her early painting years. Most‬ recently, she has embraced heavy machinery, specifically the undercarriages and inner‬ workings of trains and streetcars, a subject that has fascinated her since childhood. She has‬ been represented by Mimano Contemporary and Morgan West galleries and is a 2025‬ Louisiana Contemporary Artist. In addition to her work as a practicing artist, she teaches high‬ school visual arts full time at Ursuline Academy of New Orleans.‬
